Sussex Sliding doors cat flap installations
The clear standard cat flap for double glazing installations is typically thin enough to allow a sliding door to fully open without fouling the frame. A microchip cat flap, in most cases, won’t be suitable for a sliding door as it can stop the sliding doors from opening the required amount, but this will depend on the size and number of doors in your sliding set.
If you have been told it is not possible to fit a cat flap as you have sliding glass doors, get in contact today to see how we can help with prices starting from just £299.

Sussex half height double glazed uPVC door/window installations
If you’re lucky enough to have a half height uPVC framed door or window, that is currently glazed in the lower section, then you have a couple of options when it comes to fitting a cat flap.
The first is to replace the lower double glazed sealed unit with an insulated and re-enforced uPVC panel. These are just as secure and thermally efficient as double glazing, but you’ll lose a little bit of light once this is fitted. The plus side is the cost, since it is much cheaper than glass with prices starting from £159 including VAT and it can be done in a single short visit.
If you would prefer to keep the lower half as glass, we can get this done in 2 short visits and match any obscuring pattern as required with prices starting from £239 including VAT.
Sussex narrow glazing conversions
If you have a narrow glazed area where you would ideally like your cat flap installed, then we have solutions for most installation scenarios. Provided the visible glass is at least 165mm wide, then we will be able to carry out a conversion to allow a cat flap to be fitted, and it may be cheaper than you think with prices starting from just £199 including VAT.
By using a superior thermally broken glazing munitin we are able to install a shorter double glazed sealed unit above a small section of uPVC panel.
In some instances it will be possible to remain within tolerance by utilising a square hole, so you can retain glass from top to bottom.
If you have been told it is not possible to fit a cat flap as your glass is too narrow, get in contact today to see how we can help.

Yes, installing a cat flap to a glass door or double-glazing will require a new double-glazed sealed unit or toughened glass pane to be manufactured with a fan hole cut prior to toughening in the factory. The installation can be completed in two short visits, one for us to measure up and another for us to install. The actual installation will be completed in under an hour for most uPVC framed scenarios, whereas timber and aluminium framed installations may take longer.
As most double glazing will be toughened, it is not possible to cut the glass without the entire piece shattering into tiny pieces. Also within the sealed unit itself is either a vacuum or an inert gas, as well as desiccants to absorb moisture. Breaking the seal in any way will ruin the sealed unit, allowing condensation to build within it. Why not request a quote today so that we can give you an accurate price on your particular installation scenario.
All of our replacement double-glazed sealed units come with a 5-year manufacture’s guarantee against premature failure. Our cat flap manufacturer’s typically provide a 3 year warranty on their products, so you can be sure your installation will pass the test of time.

Yes! We have solutions for almost all uPVC framed narrow double glazing scenarios. Provided the width of the visible glass is at least 165mm and the frame is uPVC, then we have a solution to install a cat flap.
We have worked hard with our suppliers over the years to develop a tried and tested, reliable method to allowing a cat flap to be installed into narrow double-glazing applications. We use a superior thermally broken aluminium glazing muntin, to join a shorter double-glazed sealed unit with a small section of uPVC to give a seamless installation into uPVC framed narrow double-glazing installations. The advantage to this is that you can select a very narrow glass area, keeping costs to a minimum and the installation less conspicuous than the main door. The frame is not altered in anyway, so the installation can be easily reverted and the original double-glazing installed should you wish to remove the cat flap in the future.
Most customers find this installation a lot more affordable than they expect, so please get in touch to see how we can help.

Short answer, Yes it can! …But you may be limited only to a clear standard cat flap depending on the type and size of your sliding door set. On larger multiple leaf sliding sets it may be possible to install a microchip cat flap to your sliding doors whilst allowing them still to open the required amount. Yes!
We have worked hard with our suppliers to be able to offer cat flap installation with laminated glass sealed units. The process involves sending the new laminate glass off to be cut by a special water jet, so it takes a little longer than standard toughened glass, but if you want to retain laminate glass as part of your installation then we can help! If you’ve been told laminate glass is not an option for cat flap installation, think again! Think Just Cat Flaps! We have installed dozens of laminated glass cat flaps to new build properties this year alone.
Even if we are too far to undertake your cat flap installation, we can always supply any parts you may need for any awkward or even ordinary installation.
