1. Irreversibility of Works

• I acknowledge and agree that cutting or altering a composite or metal door to install a cat flap is an irreversible modification. Once commenced, the door cannot be returned to its original condition, and any resulting aesthetic, structural, or functional changes cannot be undone without replacement of the door at my cost.

1. RFID/Microchip Performance Limitation

• I understand that the metal content and construction of composite or metal doors can interfere with radio-frequency identification (RFID) and microchip-reading technology.
• I accept that any reduced, inconsistent, or failed operation of an RFID/microchip cat flap arising from the door’s material, construction, reinforcement, or hardware is not a defect in the cat flap or in the installation, and is not the responsibility of Just Cat Flaps Ltd.

1. Assumption of Risk and Allocation of Responsibility

• I voluntarily request and authorise Just Cat Flaps Ltd (the “Company”) to install a cat flap into my composite or metal door at the property stated below.
• I accept full responsibility and risk for: (a) any cosmetic or aesthetic impact (including chipping, cracking, delamination, discolouration, or visible cut edges); (b) any structural or functional impact (including reduced insulation, draughts, water ingress, warping, weakness around the cut-out, adjustment issues, or impact on door integrity, security, or warranty); and (c) any impact on RFID/microchip performance as set out above.

1. No Warranties as to Door Condition or Third-Party Warranties

• The Company gives no assurance that the installation will preserve any manufacturer’s, installer’s, insurer’s, or homebuilder’s warranty relating to the door or property. I understand such third-party warranties may be voided by the modification. I agree that I am solely responsible for checking and accepting any consequences.

1. Limitation of Liability and Release

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree that the Company, its directors, employees, and contractors shall have no liability for any loss, damage, cost, or expense arising from or in connection with: (a) irreversible modification of the door; (b) any cosmetic, structural, functional, or security impact; (c) diminished insulation, draughts, condensation, or water ingress; (d) impact on warranties or insurance; or (e) RFID/microchip interference or non-operation due to the door’s materials or construction.
• I hereby release and forever discharge the Company from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, costs, and expenses (including consequential and indirect losses) arising out of or related to the installation and its effects on the door and any RFID/microchip performance.

1. Customer Obligations

• I confirm I am the legal owner of the property or have authority to approve the works.
• I have verified that planning, leasehold, freehold, landlord, management, or covenant permissions (if any) have been obtained. I accept responsibility for any permissions and consequences if not obtained.

1. Access, Measurement, and Existing Conditions

• I acknowledge that pre-existing conditions (including hidden reinforcements, voids, electrical/ alarm contacts, glazing beads, or moisture) may affect outcomes. The Company is not responsible for latent defects or unknown conditions within the door or frame.

By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understood this Waiver and Release, that I had the opportunity to ask questions, and that I voluntarily accept the risks and terms above. I understand that, upon signing, I waive any right to pursue a claim against Just Cat Flaps Ltd for damage to the door or for RFID/microchip performance issues arising from the door’s materials or construction.
