Each cat flap installation is different, and each cat flap has their own pro’s and con’s.
However, in my opinion, the best all round cat flap is the Sureflap Microchip cat flap. It has microchip recognition for selective entry, only allowing your cat in by recognising your cats embedded microchip (no need for a collar).
It is suitable for all cat flap installation scenarios including almost all door, glass and wall installations.

Yes, in most cases it is possible to fit a standard clear cat flap to a sliding patio door. Unfortunately a microchip cat flap will not likely be an option as the tunnel would stop the door from opening the required 750mm.

Yes, we can! As competent cat flap installers we can advise on, supply and install suitable intumescent cat flap surrounds and compatible cat flaps for 30 and 60 minute Fire Doors. Internal doors separating habitable areas of your home from non-habitable, such as a garage, will typically be a Fire Door. The bulk of the cost in a glass cat flap installation is for the replacement double glazed sealed unit. This year with the rising cost of gas and logistics, the energy intensive process of manufacturing glass is seeing a realised increase of between 30-50% for producing double glazed sealed units.
All is not lost though, it may be possible to replace the existing glass with a more economically viable uPVC panel or perhaps you may wish to consider a wall installation instead.

Currently the replacement double glazed sealed units for the cat flaps are taking around 8 working days to manufacture from when I have visited to measure and received a £100 deposit to allow me to order the glass.
